What is Aikido?
- A traditional Japanese martial art

- Includes the use of wooden sword (katana), stick (jo), and knife (tanto) techniques
- Teaches to blend in with an attack and to redirect it
- Teaches self-defense from attacks and conflict resolution
- Train with strikes & grabs and uses locks, holds, throws, and pinning techniques
- Teaches to fall, roll and stand back up
- Teaches to use one’s center and find balance
